Description
-
It takes a while for the
original form of this structure to make sense to the eye. It looks to me as
if this may have originally been a structure similar in design to the small
passage-mound at Pinhero
dos Abracos in
nearby Coja. The structure has the remains of a small passage, leading to a
central chamber, which was then completely covered over with a mound of small stones.
The mound
'excavated' in 1983, and a few remaining stones still outline the original locations of
the passage (left) and chamber (right).

It is still possible to see the
packing stones that once covered the structure.
Personal conversation
-
The local barman told me that he remembered
no bones being found on the site, although there were other 'stone things'
found there when it was 'excavated'. Apparently it is to be
restored at sometime in the future.
